It's been a while since I've posted; and even longer since I've put up a "road trip" post. Life has been full of surprises this year which are keeping me pretty busy.

This is the time of year I start day dreaming of my yearly journey to the Lone Star Round up. A road trip is good for the soul and although the trip to Bakersfield is only a half day drive in the van it still feels like a trip someplace far away.

If you have not been to this event; I suggest you go sometime. Famoso raceway sits in the middle of almond and citrus groves about 5 miles off the freeway and is like a land that time forgot. I will let the photo tell the story.

  5. We're heading out at about 3am tomorrow morning in a truck with essentially zero miles on it. It's going to be an exciting experience!

Looking forward to see you at the ACME booth so I can refresh my wardrobe! I'm running low on "nice, going-out-to-eat T-shirts".....

This event brings people from all over the world. This couple are from England and are heading to Vegas to marry after the race.

Ahhh, Bakersfield. My favorite event all year! Have had to skip quite a few in the last 4 years because of work though. Last time I went there was too many f$%kin people. I went to the first Cacklefest in 2000, was only a few cars and 90% of the people that were there on saturday left and didnt even see it. It wasnt untill it got some press about how bitchin was that everyone had to come the next year in 2001.

Love the great vintage Chrisman digger, man I wish I could go to this event some time. I have been to the strip for a meet when I lived in sunny Cal. But this nostalgia event is so damn cool, get the beautiful Cynthia in the work spot and please shoot more pix. Her charm probably sells more stuff anyway! Thanx daddy-o. Wow, I umped on that bang shift blog and what a blast, almost like being there. Thanx!! ~sololobo~
