Welcome to the wagon brother hood, spend the dollars on making it safe and reliable. Cragar/Unique makes a great Supreme... but those can come later. Do a brake upgrade and then the "cool" stuff can come later.. Congrats and good luck with the new ride !
hey kid ..good luck with your new ride, spend your hard earned bread on getting it safe first(steering and brakes)then add the gingerbread...my first car was 39 ford coupe that i never finished...great to to see todays youths diggin the cl***ics!
These may be a little cheesy but I have a soft spot for the old Z28 wheels on these maybe because I had a uncle who had these on a 65 2 door hardtop years ago and they could be had for a song when I was growing up and not to mention they are a good steel wheel that you didnt hafta worry about running loose like some of the old used cragars and slots did back then.
I had one a few years ago that came out with a 396 but it was long gone and it had a buick engine in it, mine didnt look nearly as good as this one but it was the same color with the woodgrain.
By the time you and your dad make it home you'll have a long list of things to fix. Commit to yourself to fix what's wrong FIRST before setting out on your customizing mission. By doing so you'll be able to ENJOY your car much more! And by doing so you'll also increase the value of it!
kustom check out jason line with summit raceing pro stock driver he got a nice wagon done street strip style.goggle it.
Here´s my old ´66, also a 283/3 speed. Go thru the brakes and other things to make it safe to drive first, then cut the coils and mount those Astros! Manne
Let me buff that beach. Check out My Work album pix. This wagon would look good with unpolished 5 spokes too. But, even chrome reverse and a 3" drop would be cool.
I think if you are going to drive cross country , you might want to make sure its safe first . I blew my chance to buy the '65 wagon. GOOD LUCK "AND THE BOWTIE ROLLS ON"
You'll have a blast with your Longroof. My 62 has 2" drop spindles and power front disc brakes, 9" Ford rear with cut coils. If it were me I'd due the front discs first. Good Luck.
Nothing wrong with the factory brakes or steering on those cars, just make sure everything is working properly. 65's are really nice cars and easy to find parts for. Have fun with the wagon and DRIVE IT...
