Very cool deal. You got a buy on the car and it sounds like it's in great hands and will live to see the road again. Good to see a young dude coming up. I do alot of training with our local autobody voc-tecs and some kids are there to take up space and the ones like you make me think the world will still be a good place for years to come.

  3. That's a cool little T... I would fix the rust, maybe put some old timey do-dad's on the engine like some finned valve covers and three-two's... LEAVE THE OLD PAINT AND INTERIOR... and put some solid wheels, like '49ish Chevy 15"ers and some bias plys.

If you paint it, upholster it and fix it up all shiney, you'll erase all its history.

Think about it... and have fun!

well there is a bad case of rust on the quarter panel seam, It needs to be repaired, but then it would be gray primer everywhere. I'll post some pictures of what I'm talkin about.
oh and yeah having a blast with it. when I get in the mood I work on it, then when i'm not I don't and I just drive it. only not fun part is paying for gas, and running out of cl*** at school to put a tarp on it during a rain storm!

Today, for the first time. It didn't start up. Had to go to school, and went to start it up, and it would crank, but not fire. It got wet the day before, so I had to find another way to school. Was thinking about it all day, then when I got home I took the hood off and the distributor cap was loose(one sides hook came off), It was wet inside a little, so I dried it off, then it fired right up!

I was afraid I was gonna have to buy a new distributor. It wouldn't have gotten wet but my moms volvo is in my spot in the garage because her alternator went out. I'm trying to post pictures of some body work I'v done.

Thanks. and thanks for that link, that is just what I'm gonna need. Also need one for a top too. know of any? and yeah, I couldn't afford having someone do the work on it even if I did. Cost to redo it will be cheap, having no labor.

Today is a special day. Today was the day last year when we got the '27. In computer cl*** I'm making a list of what all I will need to to redo it completely. Then try to price it all out and see what I can do. Hoping* its under 5k. All it really is, is paint, interior materials, random parts, and all the small things that add up.

Here's another picture from the first day!

sell those rims to the camaro/chevelle crowd when it comes time for that phase of the build and get some proper steel wheels. they look to me like early 70 camaro, chevelle wheels.

yeah, they are off our dads camaro. We have steel wheels but with rotten tires.

yes, the belly pans are still there, however, one side was severely rusted, so we made a new pan for it, but it doesn't have louvers in it. It does have the oil cooler under one pan too. Might need replacing soon, it's all beat up!

and if you have anymore pictures we would love to see them! Thanks

Yesterday we took the trunk lid bare metal and got the rust treated and epoxy primed. I'll put pictures up tonight.

Haven't done to much work on the car lately, but recently took the trunk lid to bare metal, did a little welding and then neutralized the rust with Ospho, and shot it with a Nason Epoxy Primer. We didn't put any filler on it yet, just wanted to seal it good so it cant rust out any more.

Here's a before and after picture, we did the under side too. There was a lot of rust on the louvers.

One step at a time! This weekend were going to Tampa for the NSRA show, so gonna get everything cleaned up and check all the fluids for that.
Also tomorrow at school I'm gonna do a compression test, and a vacuum test because I think the rings are going bad..

So, how was your Tampa show experience? Gary

  25. Lot of potential there. Maybe your dad will swap the drum brakes off his Camaro for those disks, and it looks like you have plenty of room for a mechanical fan. Maybe hide the shifter under a boot. Different headers and wheels/tires, and you'd have a very traditional looking car.

It was good, looks like you visited the under '29 section! That's a good shot you got. We were entering in a contest and won a 16 inch electric fan.

It had a mechanical fan, but it was rubbing on the radiator so we took it off. We will get different wheels when we find a set that we like.

That would be our tail light. thanks

Currently on the car, we have a gas, oil and coolant leaks... Gonna try to take care of them this week. We are also redoing the bottom trunk pan too, its a pain. had to cut out a big patch and get it welded in. hopefully we can finish it this week.

Great car. I think some 48 Pontiac tail lights would fit the car better than LED's but its your car and your tastes may change. LED's are for the roll pan of a dropped mini truck not vintage Henery Ford steel.
