Beautiful work. I was a bit worried about the slant chop three months ago when you mentioned that you were going to do it but that is a main focus point of the car and along with the just right amount of chop it really adds to it.
Yeh gotta agree the pics outside really show that chop, and it looks so right almost like it should have always been like that. very nice work, you should be proud of bringing that back to life, love it
this five window went home on friday and on sunday this one showed up, we built a frame and repaired the chop on this car a few years back the owner decide it was time to pull it back out of the garage and bring it back for the wood kit and to finishe up the metal work, The car was bought of Ebay a while back the chop is 4 3/8" all around to repair the chop we had to take 3/8 out to bring everything back in line
It looks like you're doing a great job. Seeing your photos sure brings back memories of my 5 window build. After 16 years mine has got paint on it.
Way too many honey do projects this summer the one five window is still in the garage waiting to get the lower door skins and for me to finish up my end of the build.
Prepping a chevy 5 window now, after looking at your chop pics, I think the 4+ chop is the right amount. Nice work. Understand the constant battle between car work and honey dos. No matter how much you get done on the ride, that HD list never stops growing.
Rex let me ask you this. Once you get those door skins and such on, what's the next step. Scrub the body down with abrasives (what kind?) and then epoxy prime it? You really do some nice work and I can't wait to see the final result. Chop looks awesome!!!
Rex, you did some nice work on the five windows. Have you given any thought to your sedan? Keep the photos coming. Lynn
