I just got a call for a quote on two truck bodies destined for the PaceMaker Steel & Piping Company. They are setting up a new location in Rochester. They currently have stores set up in Utica and Binghamton.

I've been using PaceMaker for decades, there pricing is pretty good and they have a good selection. I don't know when they plan to open up shop doors, but keep an eye open. It is definately worth checking out.

  2. This is great news!

I don't know if this is related but there was an announcement that a new steel producer was opening up in Buffalo, NY.

It's nice to see production and jobs coming back to the US.

Maybe now guys will have the money to build "Traditional" Hot Rods and not drive around in those "parts cars" they call Rat Rods!

    MADE IN AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hate to say it, but most of my steel comes from Canada. My stainless steel comes in from South Korea or Taiwan.

I haven't seen a length of steel stamped MADE IN USA in quite a long time.

  4. So is this imported resold steel or American Made? BIG Diff.!

I agree, metal is expensive but they seem to have the best prices.

I have dealt with Pacemaker in Binghamton many times.
The pricing is reasonable and the amount of steel and aluminum they stock is impressive.
