Event coverage from the 1st Annual Get Together, in ***ociation with the Shoot Out at Mountain Park Dragway located in Clay City, Ky. I know John B has already started posting some cool pics, but I thought I'd start a new thread because I took several pictures... I was feeling pretty good about being the first car to show up at the Get Together... Then I noticed Razin Cain was there before me: And another one was hiding in the beans (I think he was there before Mark!): Then the Dillehay boys showed up and started putting up the banner: Clyde rolled in with his truck, so we started a row:
Kirby did an awesome job with the Shelby's V8 design: The drag cars started rolling in early: And the Test & Tune followed shortly thereafter: Stan (fuel10922) was busy running Tech: And then the Hot Rods began to pour in:
Some of the race cars weren't bad looking, either: And now a word from our sponsors: Back to the Get Together:
JohnB took some pics of the first event, held back in 1961. <-- that means I'm joking. Everybody who participated in the Get Together also got to take a run down the strip. Here is me and Hot Rod Bob: Some other pics from John B...
Thanks for the photos, Joe! I hope to make it down that way for one of these events someday.... Malcolm
Great coverage Joe! It was a long day, but I had a blast. This is a cool event that will continue to grow.
Thanks for the pics, seen a few cars I know from around home. This is the first I know of the show, will watch for next year time and date.
Joe, great pics and had a lot of fun at the show! It's too bad you were so fast on the track that no one could get an action shot
Wow! Great pics of a great day. Thanks Hot Rod Joe. And everyone else for a great time. Worth the drive. I'll see you all again next year.
Nope after the awards we ****ged ***. My buddy with the '35 Chevy was having electrical issues and battery wouldn't hold a charge so we headed back to Indy. Man I really wanted to make a p*** but that just gives me one more reason to make the return trip in 2012. Oh yeah the electrical issues ('35 Chevy) was short in the cruise control wires. Who needs cruise control???
Hot Rod Joe. I'd like to have a picture of my car with some of that old picture magic you do. We'll have to figure something out.
Actually, John B did the aged photo magic...if you got a particular pic you want done, I'll try to get that fixed up for you. Just let me know. HRJ
The only picture I had of your car had this late model in the back ground. But like Joe said send me a good shot and I'll be happy to play around with it.
