You should read all the threads using a search. I just spent hours on this subject and it gets confusing. I am using the Dwight Bond adapter plate to connect a 90 S10 T5 and a 8BA truck bellhousing and "hogs head" Its slick. I am using a hydraulic clutch master to actuate a slave cylinder. I pulled the clutch fork shaft and put a 48 and earlier shaft in place. this allowed me to put the shaft in backwards so it exits the p***enger side. I then made a bracket that bolts to the end of the shaft and made a bracket that mounts on the side of the trans, it hold the slave cyl(88 toyota pick up). The slave cylinger pushes the arm I made which turns the shaft/clutch fork.

I used a stock flathead flywheel, clutch basket and throw out bearing. I bought a 10.5 inch clutch disc from speedway that is 14 spline 1 inch shaft. I just finished building the clutch/brake pedals which fit amazingly well considering I channeled the body 8 inches. I had to mount the dual master bracket about a foot behind the pedals so I would have enough room. I mounted all of this under the floor off the frame rail. I will just make longer rods to connect the pedals to the master cylinders. I should have mine on the road in a week or two. Read a bunch!

You need a half bellhousing from a truck. On the earlier engines a partial bell housing was cast onto the block.

I put a t-5 behind my 8BA this spring, using the offy kit from speedway. I used the stock pressure plate, disk from Ft WAyne clutch and stock throwout bearing, stock fork and shaft. As stated above, you need the truck bell housing ring, mine is steel, circular and about 3-4 deep. It bolts to the 8ba and the adapter bolts to it.

If it still has the short bellhousing bolted to it you are good and if you have the hogs head on that you can use the Dwight Bond adapter. The Cornhuskers adapter takes place of the hogs head.

Here is my 8BA with the truck bellhousing, Hogs head and an adapter that went to a Jeep trans of some sort.

This was minutes after I had pulled it out of a Jeep wagon. It allegedly had a Ford four speed in it.
