I have a 56 chevy truck and had to rewire most of it since almost everything was disconnected. My question is do the front turn signals/running lights supposed to turn on when the headlights are on as well? or are they simply for signaling? any help is appreciated thanks

The turn signals were optional, and they made the park lights with either one wire (no turn signals) or two wires (with turn signals). Does yours have one or two wires per side?

The turn signals are electrically independent of the headlights, they will work when the headlights are either on or off, or when the park lights are on or off.

The park lights only go on when you pull the headlight switch half way out, then they turn off when the headlights are on. ***uming you have the original type headlight switch.
