Twice, at a 120 MPH, I dunno what the record is but Joe's car was hauling the mail! Joe will have to post the ET Slips or at least give us the numbers. Thanks Joe for the Hospitality, GREAT Times, Rocky
I watched it on Bangshift.com video streaming. Spent most of Sat and all today watching the races. Joe's performance was outstanding! Did you notice if he had slicks? Sure hooked well. Even bogged on the line on one run. Congratulations, Joe.
Yeah, I'm trying to get hold of him to get the info for the picture thread. Present record is 12.06 by 2b-banjo's flattie eight, that's a big jump for 6" hides.
WOW!! Guess we all are going to have a lot to do to keep up. If Joe ever gets consistent on his reaction times, we'll really have a problem.
Joe has in his picture he has posted on ****'s thread a 261 Chevrolet engine and it looks like 5 97s or 94s. Now I'm running an engine that has him by 60 cubes and he is turning 2 to 3 miles faster and almost as quick on et with a stick. If we did some slide rule stuff I would say he is putting out more Horsepower than any of us. It is amazing because the 261 head has him at a disadvantage for breathing. Joe is a wizard and my hat is off to him.
what tranmission is he running is it a 3 or 4 speed what gear ,a 28 or 29 tall tire . just noesy.that 261 singing a song in the lights
Thanks Rocky, if I knew how to post the time slips I would surely do so. I can tell you that we ended up with 4 runs in the elevens. They were, 11.403 @ 120.23, 11.932 @ 119.07, 11.787 @ 119.84, and 11.468 @ 120.23. Joe
An appeal to Joe: Would you be willing to tell more about your driveline, starting line technique and how sticky the track was? I saw some of your runs on Bangshift and was in awe of your performance. Didn't realize you tried a second gear start on the one run where it bogged.
Congratulations Joe, we had alot fun of this weekend. That thing goes like stink. Maybe we should keep an eye on the level in the gas tank though.
We are running a M-21 four speed and a 411 rear gear. The track is so sticky that it will pull your shoes off and that is why second gear starts were so tough. What seemed to work best was to get the car moving and then short shift into second. Joe
Thanks for the information, Joe. With a 4.11 gear your 261 revs good in the lights. Last summer was the first time I was able to step on the starting line at a prepared track. You're right, darn near pulled my shoes off.
Hi Joe, great performance. You are on the top of the burnout list. the other Joe in the 11's. If you look at my film with Bob Hindman, his is a 261.
Here're Joe's four 11sec runs (of nine he got in) over the three days at the "Reunion". Just click on the picture for the Flickr link to all sizes if you want it larger.
Was Joe running between the calling of different cl***es? I noticed a number of cars getting runs in in what appeared to be that cir***stance. I'm still in awe of his performance.
