49"-50" Bench Seats, what cars/trucks/ vans have em'?

I'm looking for a bench seat for my 46 Harvester. Tried a caravan 2nd row bench bit its only 47" and just doesn't work. Any ideals?

 

I just picked up a split front bench from a 93 Chrysler New Yorker yesterday. It is the type that is split 50/50, and has the folding armrests with cup holders. so the width could be adjusted easily. I need 57", so i am gonna move the sections apart and build a center console. This thing measured right at 50" wide before we pulled it out of the car.

 

Any chance you could post a pic of the seat?

 

An older S-10 or Ranger bench seat may be about right. A lot of import pickups have seats that are the right width but most of them have that big cutout for the shifter. Measure some other minivan seats such as Ford Aerostar and Windstar, Chevy and GMC minivans, etc. If you have access to a pick-a-part yard ,you cna probably find something that works. The challenge you're going to face, as I did with my '38 Ford pickup, is that many seats that are OK in terms of width are too deep front to rear, or seat backs are so thick that they put the seat too far forward. Then there is the whole issue of the way the cab tapers in toward the front. You'll find many seats that are the perfect width at the back but too wide at the front. On my truck, I modified a back seat out of an '89 Ford Tempo.

 

Well, guess I'm gonna take my two boys on a treasure hunt. Ill give em both tape measures and we can all 3 hunt down a seat that will work. I'm thinking this is how it should happen anyways.

 

Dodge Dakota is a little wider than most. Lots of mini trucks are in that range. I wanted 48-49" and ended up with an early Ford Ranger seat, it has a very thin back so it fits my truck well.
