Been Busy lately, finally ****oned up the WILLYS sedan turned into a truck I got from rocky. I was planning on running the Blown 392 hemi in the little willys. I spent damn near everything I got for the 35 chevy truck on the motor and parts for this thing, I needed the little pickup to run at least LOW 10s and be very streetable, something I could drive a couple hundred miles and beat on it when I got there.... When it was time to mount the engine and 4 speed trans, I discovered that there would be NO ROOM for my 6'4" tall lanky ***.I messed around for a couple of weeks thinking about pedals, steering columns etc, but nothing came up that was going to let a super tall beanpole drive this thing, so .... Damnit, There goes my DREAM CAR. I have been dreaming of this little hemi powered straight axled pickup since I was 10 years old, BUT Screw it, I aint putting a SBC in it, so I finished up the body work (quickly) and peddled it. Now what do I do???? the garage is empty and I need a reason to go out there and drink beer..... So I bring the wifes Vicky in the garage and start looking at it. Damn its rusty. Damn..... Its super rusty.... so I fired up the plasma and started cutting away the cancer. I have been replacing metal on it, and making parts where the new metal mounts to also, cause thats rusty too... I bought some plugs , wires, points and fuel pump and played with the flatty that hadn't ran in like, 30 something years and got it running, its a little smoky, but It runs good and should come around. The steering gearbox has 3 broken bolts in the housing, so I figure thats why it was taken off the road way back when.... I threw some 3" blocks under the *** end last night, but It needs to come down more. I am going to buy some of those JAMCO leafs and springs, and brush paint it green this year, I need something to drive This year.... Somewhere along the line I picked up motorcycle fever, and decided I needed to build a bobber so this it the newest project in my garage. I have been gathering parts for a few weeks now and just got the frame this week . I mocked up what I have for the first time today, Hopefully I will be able to ride it before winter comes ..... That Shoebox is lookin' good! I'm not sure I'm going to live long enough to take that motor bike for it's maiden voyage. It seems as though your personal life interferes with your garage work too much. You did say it was the ol' lady's Vicky.......
