chopping the merc

hey there guys i have a question its been brought up before i think but i need to no i have just brought a 1950 merc stock height and i want to turn it into a sled 4inch chop now ive seen a lot of chopped mercs but is there a right or wrong way to chop it i am a panel beater so the work load is something i can handel but i need a plan is there anyone that can help thanks
