Forcing myself to do***ent my build through photographs. As most of us know, not every idea that goes through our heads can be brought to life with parts that ship from Detroit, or anywhere else. We have to whip these up for ourselves. So before this doodad becomes just another anonymous part of just another garage-built custom, I thought I'd give it a moment in the spotlight. Who can identify this part?
Here's a pic of the factory part. I needed a larger radius, but it still had to go through the factory bolt holes... Not a trick question...
Sorry to offend your sensibilities, Dug. Should I run my all my posts by you before I post them, or do you just like to be randomly hostile to people you don't know?
yes tb33-- bracket that holds steering column to dash. 1953, to be exact. Changing to column-shift-tilt, but like the way the stock column tucks under the dash.
niiiiiiiiice.....doesnt it blow how ANYTHING you put on the hamb gets dumped on by someone? anyhow, nice fab-work holmes. still not sure what it is though haha
yeah von birch-- maybe his was the kind of comment that, if you heard it in person, wouldn't sound totally rude and douchey.... but... I prefer to err on the side of peace. take is easy!
A buch of sensitive nancy's. Wow you made a bracket. So what, I've made several brackets, don't need to post them on here. Just another wasted thread. Stick around newbie and you will see some REAL fabrication that blows away a column bracket.
But the time it took you to troll through here, read two pages of posts, and spew hate is time put to good use? Rock on Kool guy!
Don't let 'em get to you, HH... And I wonder where "hot rod mecca" is...??? Think I'll get an answer...??? R-
Yeah, a lot of the stuff that guys do here is awesome. Keep doing what you're doing, I dig backyard engineering the most. It's traditional too.
So. Cal.....everyone knows it's the hotrod mecca! I read through this waste of a thread because the ***le was intriging, my mistake as your fab skills are not note worthy. I'm done with this thread. Have a nice day Nancy.
