Hey guys...I'm getting tired as **** of writing these things...I just found out that my good buddy died in a car accident Friday night. Because he wasn't wearing a seat belt! I'm guilty of it too from time to time...hell I didn't have one on tonight before I heard the news. We gotta stop this ****!
You guys might have met him (or known him from Miami) at the Singer Island Invasion. He was the kid with the green '54 Chevy with flames. Damn...I'm just numb. He was my good friend and my neighbor....****.

    Jesse's car...

That's rough man, he had some talent too, that was a nice looking car. It's too bad that it takes something like this to remind everyone to buckle up.

I don't get it! How hard is it & how much time does it take to snap a seatbelt? Is it that uncomfortable for you? Maybe if you saw the cars that were in accidents where folks have hit the windshield - like I have doing repair work - you'd change your mind. The blood, hair, & even teeth stuck in the gl***... Want that to be you?
Not only that, but you should wear one anyway just to maintain control of the vehicle. Ever had to dodge some idiot? Think you can do that & get slung out of your seat jumping a curb or ditch & still control the car? Think again.
Parsonally I'm uncomfortable if mine is not tight; you will be too once you're used to it.
    WEAR THE DAMN THING!

Josh...that's EXACTLY why I posted this. Hoping I would remind someone to put their seat belt on, start wearing them or install some. Please do me a favor and get some in your Ford. I'm installing some in my old Dodge today.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, guys.

My Condolenances to you and his family. I lost my best friend about 30 yrs ago in a wreck because he wasn't wearing a seat belt. Seeing a young person killed in a wreck is one of the toughest things I have to do as a Professional Firefighter. It's almost as bad to be maimed in an auto accident tho. That's what I've always feared trying to navigate traffic running emergency.
Seat belts, good tires and brakes are lifesavers with the volume of traffic on the roads today.

James... Jesse has spoken through you with this post. Judging by the responses in this thread, people have heard his message.

Starting today, I'm buckling up. My wife and kids will be thrilled.

The cars most of us drive(like Jesse's Chevy) have as much metal in them as 3 Toyotas, as long as we can stay in em there is no reason this has to happen, if you really hate the look that much you can easily tuck the belts into the seat when you get to the show or cruise night, there is no reason not to have them.

    Damn,,,

One of the good ones gone. Only met Jesse once but it seemed like we knew each other for years. We talked stuff like computers, the mods to his car and all sorts of stuff. When I read this I immediately thought of all the ideas he had and plans, makes me want to cry. Hopefully hes up there now installin the airbags in his Chevy. I'm gonna go hug my kids. :(

If theres anything that needs to be done...
    John.

Hell no one would want too......

on a more serious note, bummer on your pal, I know I don't in the Olds pretty regular, figure it aint going to keep me off the steering column anyway, but I damn well should !!
We had 6 die here in a single car V tree at the weekend not one including a 2 y/o wearing a belt.... and its been law here for like 30 years.
