Getting ready to go through the bag set up in my old buick. was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to use. I have slam bags up front and firestones in the rear and i think a 10 gallon tank and one compresoor. It takes two cycles to get the car all the way up. any info or help would be awesome. i'm looking for a set up fairly reliable. also I dont have shocks in the front, but i do in the back. Is this a problem to worry about or just rock it the way it sits. If you have pics of your set up please show them off

Go with the firestone bags I have never had a problem. Heard stories about the slam bags being mishapend. You need two compressors for sure to fill the system. I would place shocks at the front. They are crucial for ride stability.other options they will cost and take your time from you are ... C notch, how low you wanna go,etc. Go through the system check the welds , make sure the bags aren't rubbing on anything and are in good working order. Check all hoses and valves

  3. 10 gal tank should fill them without needing to wait for the pressure to recover. Maybe your tank is not 10 gallon size, that is pretty big. Airbags are reliable if they do not rub on something. You should have each front corner on independent valves, and you need to put shocks on the front. Sway bar on the front is a good idea. The back you can get away with both on one valve, but independent is still better.

Larger diam bags are better, assuming they can fit. Firestone has been making them for a long time, can't go wrong with them.

Shocks are never optional. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either ignorant, or is trying to kill you.

i modified a york A/c compressor in my 53. best thing i ever did. just need to oil it now and then, use a water trap and dont cheap out on the plumbing, it gets hot near the inlets, and build a stout bracket. filled my tank FAST! i made it nice as hell and it only cost me about 150 bucks total.i swear by slam bags. never had an issue once with them, and they have internal stops (snubbers? nubs?) . not sure now but the firestones used to not have them and the fitting holes are nice on slams. shocks are nice in the front to keep the car from feeling like a runaway rollercoaster on the freeway, but your whip won't flex as hard playa.

Sounds like your pressure switch might be to low. It should take less than 2 gallons to fill 4 bags with a full tank at 210 PSI.
