So I went to Mr Lee Hartung auction and was lucky to get a few items. The one Lot I got was a few nos FORD 81 92 carburators. I took a inside mic and it came out to a stromberg 81 size. So anyone have more info on this carb jets etc were I haven't found it in the Green Bible Thank you Lee for saving the parts for us to enjoy!

To clarify this, are the carburetors you bought Chandler Grove/Holley 92's (which are the same size as Stromberg 81's) and used on later model V8-60's?

You didn't buy the 34 Phaeton? I thought you were one short in that department.

Nice score on the carbs continentaljohn,I was bidding against you,how much higher would you have gone,I wanted to go higher but I could not dig in my pockets to much deeper.I think those holly 92's are hard to come by.DAM I wanted those.
That 34 phaeton was a sweet car,I thought it was in great condition,to bad it was out of reach for me.

Carb parts are called out in a CHART within the carb section parts listings and by charts in the '38-48 service bulletins...these listings give the PN for each part of carb and once you figgerout Ford's use of prefixes you can instantly spot which parts are peculiar to this model...which is most of them, actually.

They were used only '39-40, when 60 production had dropped waaaay off...very rare carb, except in my ba*****t. For some reason I keep tripping over strays.

:D HA HA HA I got the 29 pheaton were I knew of a few heavy hitters were going for the 34 and out of my reach. Their poker face and talk worked were I went home and didn't even find out the results till the next day. I felt it was a killer deal and congratulation to the new owner. So hows the pheaton doing?
Thanks and wish some of us could have consolidated our fund to buy more lots and more of us to enjoy. I play nice and will share:D
Thank you Bruce for you help and info, I don't know if I should be saying this but I like the Ford carbs better then the stromberg ones:D

You just have to keep looking at the fleas...which for you would mean a plane ticket to Hershey, I guess! For Americans...look over all the guys with tables full of overpriced 94 family cores. Most of them don't know squat and sell all models at same price, usually don't even distinguish between those with sloppy throttles and good ones...
At***udor, do you have any Euro/English/unAmerican early Ford stuff to trade, especially 1932? Always looking for this kind of stuff...and I'm the reason no one can find any 92's.

  15. I know i have a few up in the attic or out in the shed or in one of the cars. Damn hoarders :D.
