ive havent seen to many 49-52 chevy coupes chopped & the ones that i have seen the rear qtr gl*** just dont look right ? anyway to make it look right ? does anyone have any pics of chopped coupes ?thanks
Its all about the catwalk man Addin meat to that area between the trunk and rear gl***.and shortining the length of the top. Some folks just dont get it
Here's a thread I started about a specific chop on a Coupe. I personally like how mild it is at 3", but there are quite a few Coupes with 4" plus chops that have turned out great. I feel because the roofline on the Coupes are already pretty short and the rear catwalk area is pretty long, they look better chopped than regular Sedans. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=594042 The chop that Ian Berky did on "Munsters" 51 Coupe came out nice specifically because of the attention he put into the crown of the rear sail panels as well as the contour of the quarter windows. Here's that thread... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=413311 Do a search on "Chopped Chevy Coupe" and you'll find a few thorough build threads and pictures.
Here are a couple of pics of Munsters chopped Coupe. Not sure if you were thinking about slanting the B-pillar or leaving them vertical.
