Since no one else posted it and I actually did something this weekend, I thought I might as well start the thread

Built my rear kick up on my sedans frame, setup kind of a jig of the stance I wished to achieve. Cut the front for the Z and started mocking it up to where its going to stay. Haven't nailed it down yet since I'm picky and want to be low but don't want a huge Z at the cowl so I might Z again at the crossmember but don't want it to end up looking like an after thought.

Have to figure out the Z, get the front end all done up, box it, make motor & tranny mounts, do a few crossmembers including the rear for my bags and get all my hard parts still. Trying to make a rolling chassis by the end of the year but on a pretty strict budget.

didn't do the work myself, but i took my impala in on friday to get short headers (for ground clearance) and dump tubes installed and the exhaust extended to meet the new short headers. LOVE the dump tubes, they and the shorties baffle the noise a good bit, so i might just leave the bastards uncapped.

little E and i painted his 361, tied up a few more loose ends on the edsel, put the water pump, fan, balancer and pulleys on but totally didn't find short headers for an FE, nor did we find engine mounts or a carb rebuild kit. oh well, we'll see what next weekend brings...

After cutting all the farmer-added goo-gaws off my '26 T roadster, I spent a good few hours cleaning junk out of the shop to make room for the T so it wasn't blocking the door. I'd post pics, but the car is still pretty ugly the way it sits. When I get some of the brushed-on paint sanded off, I'll post pics.

Went out Friday night, just outside town is a little make-shift drag strip we all call 9 mile. Lined up against a friend and for the first time hammered on Slick really hard......

Spent the next 1/2hr. hunting drive shaft parts! The thing shattered both U-joints in half, and busted one u-bolt on the rear end, plus beating the mufflers to death.

So what did I get done? I broke the damn thing, thats what!

  6. Wasn't quite the weekEND, I finished the 2CV6 on Thursday. After five months of cleaning and repairing what was: dirty, rusty, holed, broken, and worn out, I drove her on Thursday.
Saturday was the local cruise, so was the official roll out.
Sunday was up to Volo to the musuem there.
Enjoy some before and after pics...:

Very productive weekend thus far. I pulled the motor out of my '71 C/10 then sold it and my '55 Olds since my shitty town fined me for unregistered cars. At least I made a few hundred bucks.

I fired the '57 up Sunday with the help of Billy (Slowandlow63). Now it's just tying up loose ends, trouble shooting, and we'll be back in business.

Took the first ride in my '47 Ford friday night. Dirt in the master made the brakes drag, but I got it home. Sunday I pulled it off, cleaned it, put it back together, put on a new emergency brake cable, and went for some more rides :D

  11. Nothin' too major. We got both fenderwell headers on the '55 and put on some original Corvette valve covers on. We finally picked up a 6x2 setup a while back that I just started rebuilding. I'll post a few pics later today.

WTF, I thought Kojack was banned?

I got tons done this weekend, the wife and kids were in Pennsylvania.

I put a Pertronix module in my '60 Chevy, a difference that's hard to describe. Ditch 'yer points, get one of these now.

I took the tranny out of my '63 Capri and modified the pivot and throwout arm to a much better designed Anglia unit, but now my stupid car won't start.
Swiss Mike helped me get the heavy ol cast iron SOB back in, he got oily, I got completely covered from head to toe in stinky gear oil. My pal Dave graciously scrubbed me down in my back yard, in full view of everyone. I'm sure people thought we were up to some kind of gay shenanigans.

Got to ride my bike quite a bit, something I don't get to do much.

Had a club meeting, hung out with Draglinks a lot, went to a Tiki bar and Mako's (which is damn close to a titty bar) two dives, Wally's and Lou's, slept in the back of a Volvo station wagon.

Ate barbecue at Draglink's house on Sunday and swam around in his deluxe above ground swimming pool.

Yeah it was a killer weekend but I'm glad it's over.

  13. First time it didn't rain in six weekends and all I got to do was pack for York:(

NADS- When I got the 60 El Camino I was having problems with the points, my buddy brought over a HEI and that fucker ROARED to life. Totally different motor- I agree.

I wonder what my galaxie would act like with a pertronix in it...

I made a few bases for stuff like the buffer/bender filling rims with quick crete-

I welded in a new lip in the back of the trunk for the galaxie- where they're famous for busting out- FIXED

I trimmed out the inner hood reinforcement so its ready for the louver press... Its going in Tomorrow.

Started prepping all the smaller parts for paint- and jamming-

JOLENE made me some bad ass black seat covers... SHE RULES. You cant really see any detail in the pic but it looks really really CLEAN.

We got my big welder wired up and I started to weld up all the holes in the frame of the TUCKSTER-- were putting a new office in the shop so everythings "uprooted" and had to move the welding room from one end of the shop to the other- so no welders for the last couple months- but im totally STOKED- and im back up and running.

I located 2 new doors and hinges for the TUCKSTER- and a 6X2 intake is coming down from Kanada.

Also took apart my f-1 box and im getting it ready to c-notch into my chassis...

    - did yard work
    and did work work
    and im still working

Tuck, Looks like you've been a busy boy, that deserves an Attaboy. Looks like the shop is taking shape.
Now take some time off and spend it with Jolene. If your remember when I talked to you at Autorama I said I didn't know how you could stand it not being around her when she was in Texas. Well, if she's home now, make up for lost time. :)

Tuck, Draglinks just put a Pertronix in his 390 powered Galaxie, the difference is unbelievable.

  19. -Drowned the Panhead in fuel three separate times...lots of walking home. Need to lean out jets ALOT.

-New wheel cylinders and brake lines on the rear of the wagon. Learned that you shouldn't drink while trying to bend brake line.

-Pulled dents out of the rocker panel and hood on the wagon. Pulled the door panels out of the interior for use as templates for new ones. Removing all badging today...maybe trim too if I can manage not to tear it up too bad.

  20. I planted azalias. Don't ask.

  21. Finished up puttin the 4L60 in the roadster. Gettin ready to head on down to L A roadster show then back to PA.

  22. Put front brakes on my T (still need to run hard lines and bleed 'em), finished spraying clear on a bike frame for my wife.

I got married. The best man and I spent 3 hours buffing, waxing, and polishing the Fairlane for the occasion. Then the photographer wanted my new bride to sit on the hood....ended up on her ass on the ground! :)

Cut out and welded in front floor pans and toe boards on my 65 Falcon, fixed the sub frame connectors some one hacked on. Worked on my A pickup, pulled the 4:10 gears and put in some 5:38's, installed a line loc, jetted the main jets up again, got rid of the high buck starter for a stock one and am ready to go back to the dragstrip this coming week. Was running 13.2 last week through four Holley 94 carbs....can not wait for this week, made lots of changes...................Littleman

Went to a GG show in Jacksonville Sat and most of Sun and spent today grinding the engine block/ heads smooth. It is motor that is going in my 29 Sedan. (have alot more to go - expect that most of next week will be spend working on it). Its amazing how long it takes to strip a block and grind all the little nubs and casting marks off.

Damn it, I was p.o.'d this weekend. I'm working outside under a carport and down here in the southern hemisphere it's going into winter. So that means rain, wind, more rain, more wind and cold. I've been battling to get the front half of my '54 Chevy bodyshell in primer for the past month (the rear half is already in primer). I have to do the body in sections just because it's too big of a job to do all at once when I only have weekends to work on the car and bare steel rusts up so quickly in our coastal salt air.

So I spent Saturday stripping two weeks worth of surface rust off the front half of the roof, cowl and firewall, sanded the whole car with 80 grit and prepped it for paint. Sunday came and it was raining cats and dogs, then when it did clear up, my neighbour had kindly parked his BMW right next to the Chevy and he dissapeared for the rest of the day. So, I was screwed, no ways was I going to risk getting overspray on his BMW, plus who wants to hear a loud compressor for two hours on a Sunday afternoon? (my neighbours put up with a lot of crap from me with this car, so I have to cut them some slack).

So now I have to wait another five days, deal with 5 days of surface rust again, prep again, and hopefully actually paint the damn thing.

Sorry to vent, but I feel better now at least. I'm jealous of all you guys with nice big heated workshops.

It was good to read what some of you have been getting up to though, even if it was planting azalias.

    Rich
