I'm in the middle of rebuilding a 4bbl Holley 4160 600 cfm that I was given a few weeks ago. I've cleaned it all, bought the re-build kit and I'm about to start re-***embly.

However, I noticed that a rubber pipe plug on the base plate that went in the carb cleaner has started to disintegrate and I need a new one. But I don't know what it is and the exploded view that came with the rebuild kit doesn't include it and the rebuild kit doesn't include it. So I'm trying to identify it so I can order a new one.

The numbers stamped on the base plate are 12R-5204 and 61947 (see last pic below)
    Underneath the baseplate there's 11081.
The numbers on the ****erflys are 109 on primaries and 311 on secondaries.
The number stamped on the carb core is 6R 7809B

I'm concerned that this base plate may be from a different carb with a different cfm. Can anyone confirm or deny that? And whilst we're at it, does anyone know what that pipe is for?

Here's a pic of the base plate. I've circled the thing I'm talking about in red:

It's not specific to that carb, you can get the plug at any reputable parts store.
I believe it's a timing port but I would have to stand on my head to determine that.......

the fitting is just an extra vacuum port and is there if you need it or plug it if you dont,go to your local auto parts store and they will have a rubber vacuum cap kit that is a few bucks and will let you have a few extras to keep with you for emergencies
