Perfect starter car. Too many jump in with their first rod build and buy something that needs a complete ground up before it moves under it's own power. With this one you can do a simple swap with a near stock SBC get it running and enjoy driving as you finish the details. Deuce Roadster's coupe would be a perfect blueprint to copy.

I got your back man, and as far as ol JJ...don't worry pal, one day you will have a flatty in something, and it will change you. I know you owned a Merc with a flatty...but drive an EARLY car with a flathead. ****, if you tooled my 33 pickup around for a week...even with the underpowered but very cammy 221 in it, you'd be beggin to build a flathead car. They just do something to you.

Oh, and if I wanted to simply peel out, I'd go buy an old 5.0 Mustang or something :D Don't come cry to me when you blow that 39 trans or smear them rear keys.

  5. That is perfect. I own the same thing. Mine was way gone and should have been crushed some say..... I disagree. Mine is a jewel almost shined up now. Im in love.
Great job on the find for your pal.

I'm all about Chevy engines but , why not a 292 or 312 Ford to be different? A Ford in a Ford, what a concept. And no, I have no idea how much that would cost !

3,500, I thought it was a heck of a buy. Has a ton of extra parts, keys in the ignition and has a ***le!

Because with and adapter ring, a truck bell housing, electric fuel pump and a Hurst front motor mount, an SBC will bolt right in with no firewall or frame mods. Makes it very easy to put a flathead back in later.

Congrats to your buddy, nice buy!

If Garrett is going to keep the side trim on it, I think I have some
pretty good pieces if his aren't top notch..

The only way he could have done any better is with a gun and a mask. Only then he would have had to keep looking over his shoulder every time he took it out.:)

Had a stock Chevy 350 in my 40 Std. Coupe hooked up to the original closed drive setup. Changed from a Hurst floor shift to the original column shift and really loved the car after that. It had 15" 47-48 Mercury wheels, a 3.24:1 rearend, and got me around just fine for 3 years or so.
