    Greetings from across the pond.

I'm a father of two and p***ionate car enthusiast. I've loved American car culture and hot rods for as long as I can remember and also have a p***ion for vintage air cooled Volkswagens.

I've always wanted to built a proper hot rod but cir***stances have stood in the way. I'm now at a stage in life where I'm not going to let anything else stop me so I'm going to build my dream hot rod.

My intention is to build a traditional fully fendered '34 Ford 3 window coupe in a vintage 60's kind of style with the focus being on quality engineering, fine attention to detail and respect of what is right and correct for the era.

I've much to learn so will be watching and lurking for a while as I try to pick up as much information as I can, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions along the way.

    Thanks in advance,

    Andy

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm off to try and find some good resources for full fat '34's that I can use as inspiration for the build. Any recommendations?

Welcome from another new guy. I have a team mate on our race team from England,Alan Stattery, actually he is an Irish national. We also have friend in Andy Green and Ron Ayers of SSC and Dieselmax fame.
Remember, to get in to Hot Rod Heaven you must first visit the mecca, Bonneville. You may join us in 2012 at Speedweek if you are so inclined.

    Thanks everyone.

Where might be the best place to research what the authentic look for a '60's style '34 might be. I'm trying to get an idea and some inspiration for wheel and tyre combos, ride height, rake angle, colours, etc, etc. Thanks.
