Does any one know if Buffalo Enterprise is still in business. I have been reading up on a t5 to 235 swap on a 53. It sounds like there adapter plate deals with quite a few issues. I found a link to a page that has a number, 360-652-7684, but it just has a busy signal. Anyone know if they are still in business, or if this is a good number the posts i have been reading are from 08 and 09? Thanks
Try the hot rod works. Has a bolt in adapter and ready to go, no waiting. http://www.hotrodworks.com/catalog/
I have used the Vintage Metal Works adapter in 2 installs and it works great. http://vintagemetalworks.blogspot.com/p/t-5-to-235261-adapter-plate.html Here's the swap I did in my 1958. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=623998 I'm helping do another one tonight in a 1950 Chevy with a 235 with this adapter.
I am planning on using the one from hot rod works because: The transmission adapter kit will adapt the popular 1982-1992 Chevy S-10 5 speed transmission to a 49-54 Chevrolet p***enger car bell housing. The 49-54 p***enger 3 speed had a unique bolt pattern that doesn't match any modern transmission. A truck bell housing is sometimes used, but the clutch fork is in the wrong location to properly match the p***enger linkage. This kit has the advantage of keeping the stock clutch linkage in place. Makes much more sense to me to leave that stuff be as is it working fine.
