Check NAPA. They have lot of odd ball hard to find parts. Take the old one in to match.

Why not just head to the junkyard and chop one off a car?

Looks like there are two seperate connectors that plug into this switch. Check these and see if they look familiar.

    GM#12102602/ACD# PT289

    GM#88988812/ACD#PT2134

Either one should be readily available to order from any GM dealer. If you have a GM# for most switches and other electrical parts, any GM dealer should be able to find the item in the "Packard Connector Chart" which will reference the specific repair connectors or terminal bodies.

Here's the link to the ACDelco site to find an image of a given part number.

The switchs for tilt and non tilt columns are backwards to each other in how they work so make sure it's a plug for the tilt. If TEDKRS hadn't offered I have a couple of extras out in the shed. Another place to check is the Ron Francis catalog as it has a lot of the small harnesses that a guy might need to make things work right.

I just resolved the exact same problem. My ignition switch has 9 pins & I got the correct part from Painless. Part # 30805.

  13. Good information here. I too am suffering from a defective switch and have combed junk yards to no avail.

The local GM dealer said "Can't help you son."

    Where to turn????
