You are probable wondering why I am posting aboat a show that was yesterday, well it's because I had such a great time and The Ilegales have set an example that you don't need to spend alot of money to have a good time. They hosted a picnic at the Sweet Water regional park, in Bonita Calif. what a great place, it is located on a ridge over looking the Sweet Water Dam, and the park has a dozen gazibos with picnic tables and bar-be-ques, for those that did'nt bring their own food to bar-be-que, the Ilegales handed out free chili dogs, the show was free and they even had a d.j. playing rocabilly music. the park even has some great water games for the kids to play that are free, In these tough times, I aplaude the Ilegales , for doing their part in keeping the scene and our hobby alive. Hopefuly , this will serve as an example and motivation to other car clubs to keep our hobby and social life alive , despite the resesion, I saw Suede 37 out there taking pictures, hopefuly he will be able to post them.
Never heard of this show. Did they make it public ? Would have gone, if it was known.any flyers made?
the car show area at the park is not very big so this time the Ilegales made it a under the cuff event, it filled up fast and I had to park in the over flow area, but what a neat place and the event has a lot of potential, it going to take john a few days to post the pics, i'll try to get a hold of him, some of the other clubs that atended were the turks, the spares, the viejitos, los originales, even a guy from the dukes car club in Tijuana, there was alot of realy neat 40's stlye bombs, their was a 32 pontiac sedan that had all the gingerbread acessories, it even had a pair of original art deco skirts, arturo took his *****en 37 Packard sedan , there was some early fifty convertibles and some cool hot rods, if anybody else took some pictures, feel free to post them.
Now I'm off to see a new Oncologist. Although this is not car related, you may also enjoy pix from my shoot in Old Town during the Dia de los Muertos: http://www.dagophotos.com/111101
