Just my 2 cents: Hop it up with high compression head. I've got a Brumfield head, two barrel carb and steel exhaust manifold in my '29 and that's it...

  2. TOO nice a car to NOT enjoy as it is. You can always change it a little now....and chop it up later after it gets a little road rash and road worn...

hi guys, this is my first post on the hamb
i have also just purchased a 1930 sedan banger here in southern sweden.
    yours "bab59" i a knock-out, a great looking ride.

on the car there were 16" wires from a ford-35 and i wonder what sizes you think i should have if i want small in the front and big in the back?

i also have another question, how fast does a stock 4-banger goes. i have tested mine and it was not so fast, 75 kmh = 46 miles per hour. is that the fastest or can it go faster with some smaller adjustments. if so, what are the adjustments?

tanx in advance from southern sweden and sorry bab59 for hi-jacking your thread
    best regards //pm

Thanks for the brake adjustment pdf, Saxon!
Road devil: I'd suggest you'd try to find Secrets of Speed Society magazine: Volume nine, number two, October 1999.

Yup, some 16" spokes, work on the ride with some teflon bushed shackles; rebuild the houdailles; i hadn't heard about that 250w but that sounds like the ticket and get some speed stuff for the banger - did they ever make a split manifold exhaust for them? wonder what that'd sound like? I envy you, that looks like agreat car!

C0ra1l1: i tried to get a hold of the magazine. but no, could not get a hold of it, out of production!

but guys, what do you suggest for the tires. i have 16" wheels but tires.
600 in the front and 750 in the back, or 550 in the front and 750 in the back?

    what do you say?

I think the 6s don't have the same tread pattern as the 7.5s. The 5.5 do. I believe.

7.00 on the rear 5.50 on the front works for ours ,,learning a lot on this one ,rebuilt the diff ,very pleased with that ,,doing the head gasket now on replacement motor ,there is no short cuts ,shoulda got the head machined ,but parts are cheap and its not hard doing these jobs ,makes it worth it when you get out and drive it,,
