FE waterpump

Can you rebuild a FE water pump?
I have a new '62 pump but the shaft is longer on the Edsel's.
The 332 one is not available that i've found.
I have always just replaced the pumps, and usually on a SBC.
so can the shaft and impeller be swapped?
Advice?

 

I have an unused FE water pump, still in the box I believe, with an unusually long shaft for the fan pulley. It's way too long to use on my Galaxies or Merc. I can dig it out and send a photo if its what you need. PM me if so.

 

I'm in cause I have some nos and not in boxes FE's...that could go to a new home...

 

Try Kanter, I have sent cores for them to rebuild before.

 

PM'd you regarding a 58 Edsel long shaft pump I dis***embled. Can supply info.

BTW the somewhat hard to find tin/stamped Timing chain covers are really neat.

Your pump can be rebuilt or you can purchase a new or rebuilt one from most parts houses.

 

Thanks, I was told only 2 were available.
one for Generators and one for Alternators.
I have a new Gen one all painted etc
I had the crazy idea that the shaft possibly could be swapped.
ill just get a 58201.
