First off I know they are readily available for most cars and some not. I'm just cheap and wanted to save some bucks. I'm loaded down with medical bills and such so can't really afford a spare 40 bucks for new ones for my 51 Chevy .plus I think the repop bushings are cheap rubber junk. So I started with som hydraulic hose the same I.d and o. D as my spring eyes. Hydraulic hoses are pretty tough and have chords like a tire. Cut to length and hammer in . Pretty simple but on mine I had to shave the outside a hose to get to fit right.overall they are a pretty tight fit with no play. I think they should last a long while.well see.what do think... Yay or nay.
another option is to use urethane die springs, if you live near a factory that does metal forming you may be able to get some used for free.
Brilliant! I used hydraulic hose to build temporary bushings for my four-link! ...That was 10,000 miles ago!!!
