    God damn Dave is hot...

  2. Well another Wednesday night has come and gone, and we got a **** load done tonight on the T-Bird, and my roadster. Cory was our special guest tonight, he owns the green 52 Chevy I did this summer, with the watson style scallops. And we also got a phone call around 8:30 from a fellow in Melbourne Australia, who called simply to remind us to take lots of pictures tonight. It was pretty cool haha.
Anyways we got going around 7pm. I ordered pizza, but we went to work anyways while we waited for it to arrive.

Charlie is still a little shy when it comes to metal work, so he decided to work on my roadster. The roadster was invited to participate in the World of Wheel "Vintage Alley" this winter, and there is a few things to clean up first. Mainly the wiring. The wiring was just kind of hodge podged together in the spring so I could drive it. Now it's time to make it pretty.

Johnny and I took on the task of fitting the stock windshield into the 3" chopped windshield frame. The plan was to simply slide it down into the cowl.

Dave and Cory jumped on the back. Last time we got the rear window frame in, and the gl*** fit. Tonight they built a drainage system for the back window, and started fitting the new sail panel.

    Spark fight!

    Another crotch shot!

Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and a coke....

The cowl removed. Time to fit the gl***.

  3. The windshield actually fit with no t******* of the gl*** at all. There is about a 1/4" gap along the gl*** on the sides near the bottom. I've got an idea up my sleeve to fix that though....

    Cowl panel back on
    [IMG]

Drainage system done! Basically they built a trough in to the lower part of the frame, with brake tubing run into the wheel wells.

    Charlie taking my dash apart.

I temporarily glued the window back in place to hold it so Johnny and I could build a lower frame to secure the window.

With the window in place, Johnny and I measured up some pieces to build a lower frame. This required some welding.... Time to bust out the PPE!

While I was working on my sun tan, Dave and Cory marked out the size required for the sail panel and cut it out of a spare T bird trunk lid.

With the windshield in place, we started fitting the stainless. There is alot of stainless on this car!

Charlie, Sasha Jonny and I teamed up and bolted the seats back in, just to see how their gonna fit with the lid 3" lower. Looks like their gonna need to be lowered a bit also...

Anyways, thats about all for tonight... Hope you enjoyed!

I'm glad you enjoyed my call, I enjoy reading your reports each week, it makes my Thursday's down here. When you you said you had a 'special' photo, that wasn't what I had in mind. I guess winter hasn't set in yet.
    Thanks for the laughs.
    Adrian.

So that's what I get when I ask for no more crotch shots huh? Boy you guys must spend serious amounts of time thinking of ways to shock the HAMB audience.

On a positive note, I am looking forward to seeing more progress on your Dad's bird.

Oh, one more thing...pizza? C'mon now, where's the culinary cuisine we have come to expect?:D

Haha so glad I found this thread you guys are a hoot! I love the direction that T Bird is headed, nice work!!

  24. Alright, sorry for the long waited update. Today was a busy day!
So last night we worked on Johnny's T. Things are starting to come together on it!
Johnny and I started by continuing the stripping of his 40 ford front end.

The drums were siezed solid so we had to bust out my hub puller. I have a bunch of old pullers designed for getting early ford hubs off. Some old timer gave them to me when he was cleaning out his garage. I love them!

    Just like that!

About that time, the pizza showed up. Chicago Deep Dish once again!

Dave started making the new pieces for the X member where the ladder bars p*** through
    [IMG]

After Pizza Johnny started taking the other side apart while I washed everything in the parts washer.

    Both sides stripped and clean.

We then took his dropped model A axle and started putting things back on. It will need new king pins and all that, but since were still in the mock up stage, we just used the old stuff again.

Dave making sure the pieces he is making are going to fit.

Charlie showed up late, as he was putting winter tires on his truck earlier, and the tire machine broke half way through. Once he was here though, he got started on the wishbones.

    Spindles and brakes on
    [IMG]

  25. Dave's new piece tacked in place
    [IMG]

We ran in to a problem with the wishbones. They were split once before and had these weird rubber bushings on the ends. Charlie cut them off to so we could use early ford tierods, however now the ends of the wishbones were way to big.

So the solution was to machine up some new sleeves with the proper inside diameter that slide in to the bones.

    Just like so...

So to end the night for you, Charlie decided to show you guys how short and stubby his fingers are....

Great progress, can't wait to see that ***** on the highways!

  27. Hey hey hey
So tonight we started things off by having a good ol' game of airsoft while Dave s****ped ice off his fleetline haha. While the car was thawing out, and we were shooting at each other, Dave went over to Harveys and picked up a bag of burgers.

After supper I got back on the 1/4 extension.

    Thick enough seam sealer?

Charlie pulled Daves old 235 out of the corner to salvage the rest of the good parts out of it.

    Johnny did some more grinding....

Dave cut his gas door out to relocate to the inside
    [IMG]

And Johnny's son Liam came tonight, and he did some prepping on Daves bumperettes.

Fred sat in his bed with a goose on his head?

Johnny helping me by holding the tape roll....

    Gas door hole...

  28. [IMG]

Liam helping me shear some sheet metal
    [IMG]

    And the shaping begins...

After some shrinking in the pullmax, I planished the **** out of it
    [IMG]

Liam welding together some art. Our plan is to sell this to the city of edmonton for $125,000 and it can hang at the entrance to the high level bridge.

For this confused, read this. Edmonton likes to spend huge money on s**** metal.... I mean "art".

Once the 235 was stripped, Charlie started making a template for the 1/4 to fill the gas door hole.

At the end of the night we grabbed a few pictures to see if the 1/4 is turning out like Dave had in mind. Needless to say, he's super stoked!

Actually, I have been noticing that you guys seem to be getting help just about every Wed now. It seems that when you first started posting Lee, it was just you, Johnny and Big **** Dave. I also think it way cool that Johnny's son was willing to come along and also help out. Of course the pic of Fred makes the whole post, he's a rockstar!
