Yeah, man. What can you get nowadays for free or next to it? That was a great era, back when Americans were a more frugal society, and people were mostly thankful for what they had and made the most of it. Until 1957, my Dad could not afford BB guns, so he taught us how to make slingshots and bows-and-arrows, ya know? We built a tree house and had a BLAST!

Cost: A few nails and a couple of cut fingers
    Value: Priceless memories

Did Alex ever work for Grumman Aircraft Corp.? That illustration he is working on sure looks like an XF5F-1 Skyrocket (Long nose version).
Cool looking aircraft, too bad they never saw production.
They were used as the aircraft flown in the comic "Blackhawk", made them rather well known for a prototype!

I loved the submarine! Thanks for the copies of the cereal boxes also. Actually it was baking powder rather than baking soda that propelled them. It's the cream of tartar in the baking powder that is the trick.

I knew I had those and it wasn't my imagination!! I had the submarine, or a later 70's version of it, plus a couple of ships powered by baking soda!

My kids thought I was nuts...lol

I'm not sure but I Think MM is supposed to be one of the most photographed girls ever,

And I can't seem to find a bad pic of her no matter how hard I try.

Now that we've OD'd on Marylin, could we do the same for Rachel Welch? I'm STILL in love with her. Gary

If you do vinyls on a regular basis just put a scaffold over the front of the car (and a nice old comforter over the hood in case something falls down)

  30. does anyone remember the sets of our Air Force planes from WWII???
I think there were about 5 per set & about 5 sets total. they were plastic & gray/blue in color, the B-17 had a wingspan of about 2 1/2 ". they might have been from Kelloggs cereals. you had to send off for each set.
