I want to put a tach in my 51 with a 235, HEI. I have an older SUN tack and I have a newer TPI tach but they are both too big. I am using TPI gauges for the speedo and a quad cluster in the stock bezels so I want to mount it on the column but both of the tacks are too big and they look out of place.

I would like to find a vintage smaller tach. It doesn't need to be 8000-12000 rpm as the 235 isn't going to get near there. It would be ideal if it had a lower rpm range. I've searched and looked on various sites with no luck.

    Any suggestions? Thanks, Bill.

    I'm also curious myself.

The 53 and 54 Corvettes had a mechanical tach driven off the distributor that I would love to get to put on the 235 in my 37 p/u but they are probably very pricey so it looks like I will be looking for a small old looking electronic tach.

The standard sites are 3-1/8 and 3-3/8" for most tachs. If you wanted, we could builld a 2-1/16" in any style you like, then its nice and compact
