So I picked up a complete(minus brakes) '53 F100 axle and springs. Anybody know of a junkyard brake swap? I'd prefer discs but drums would be fine for now. And yes I know Speedway makes a nifty kit but I like the junkyard!

It's not that I don't like them I don't actually have them! I'm just looking into my options at this point.

A few years back when I built my '56, I priced everything back to stock brakes compared to a disc brake converion and it was quite a bit cheaper to do the conversion, I used an econo disc kit from Sacramento Vintage Ford, which included the bracket and a ring for the spindle. and headed to the s**** yard for the rotors and bought new calipers and bearings. Then I modified the stock master cylinder mount to accept a Mustang ll manual brake master cylinder, and it worked great...

So, has anyone used parts from a '73 thru '79 F100 to do the conversion?
