I know there are some who like playing with photoshop programs. I have a project I would like to see before I start cutting & welding. Anyone out there want to take a little time & help me out? Thanks, Mike
What are you thinking? Do you have all dimensions? I have MasterCam and FeatureCam. Solid Works to come shortly. Let me know.
@ StraughtSixHP...Thanks for the reply. I was unaware about measurements to run a cad program. I can get them to you when I take them. Project is another 56 F100. Chop top 2 inches. Section body 3 inches, cab & bed only not the fenders. Using sheet metal to cover the outside of the stake pockets. This will also bring out the rear fenders the width of the stake pockets. The tail gate will be flush, being flush with the bed & roll pan. Tail lites are just like the one on my green 56 except frenched inot the rear fenders. Grille is going to be recessed (frenched in 2 inches) Cut out the splash pan so the length & width of the front bumper so now the bumper replaces part of the splash pan. Suicide the doors...but the door handles will be at the front of the doors. Like you said "you will need measurments of the whloe truck to make it work on autocad. Thanks, Mike
Ah, you said AutoCad and my mind went straight to thinking you needed a particular part drawn up. My bad. I'm a CNC machinist/programmer and bored so it sparked the ol' interest. Photoshop, I am not an expert on. Not even a novice really.
I've tried using windows paint...LOL...NOT...Anyone know of a free photoshop program that can be used for automotive customizing?...Not using to remove red-eye lol
Change the title to 'photoshop this please' and someone will chime in. Or go to the Photshop thread and ask the question!
You'd need 3ds max or some similar modeling software.. if you didnt have "dimensions" of your truck.. you might be able to find a model thats already been created here's one.. http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/f1-1950-pickup-antique-3ds/601403 bear in mid this is a 50 ford f1 3d model and given the amount of work that this would require to create.. the price is cheap. there is a model of a 1956 ford f100 on google 3d warehouse. (the quality of which is lacking.. however.. its free!!!) to view it I believe you'll need to download google sketchup. (both the model, and google sketchup are free by the way) here's the link.. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=65a0ec90d497aefdafe1d4530f4c6e24&prevstart=0 bear in mind I teach this stuff to kids in 9th - 12th grade.. so its not impossible to learn.. if you have access to someone who is willing and has time.. i cant really help with sketchup as I have fought with learning it for some time now simply because I have access to better 3d modeling tools.. on another note.. here's a picture of a project I have been working on recently.. this is a 3d model that i'm almost done with.. measuring the real part took a good deal of time.. (and luckily.. I have it.. ) little
