I, like many others had been on the "h.a.m.b." sites many times as a guest... and finally I decided to join, just too much good stuff going on here.... I grew up in So Cal, Racin at OCIR & "The 'Dale" thru about 1979 and then a Marriage happened...... the first of many..... ALWAYS a "Kar-Krafter"! The '52 IHC is my "Work Truck".... Just divorced AGAIN...Tryin to get my Roadster put back together... Sometimes I just want some CAR PEOPLE to talk to........ Thank You!

Been Rollin on those old Chrome wheels with the 283 & 3 speed for over 25 years now...... maybe one day it will get a Jeep toploader 4 speed....
I too am a refuge from the south land now in northern California, left 35 years ago and the only things I missed & still miss is the old drag strips, plus Riverside Raceway and the Ontario Motor Speedway. Sent from my iPhone using TJJ
Yes Sir! The whole reason I left was that in my lifetime up to age 20 I had been to most of the strips, and ran on a few... was currently running on 2 of them OCIR and "The Dale" when all the closure bs started... Brewerys.... etc, I had lived thru the Terminal Island BS... NO DRAG STRIP NO REASON to stay....... Ahhh but what if I had stayed......
Hey there to "GoozGaz" .... El Monte... Ahh The Old days... Crusin Whittier... Hangin out at BOB's BIG BOY.... I had a little shop on whittier blvd at the la habra border....... I bought a Tow Truck from Ernie of "Ernies Auto Repair" in east LA in 1976... paid a bunch for it!! HA.. $750 was a "holmes 440" on a '57 Chevy / 327.... LOL! GOOD TIMES EL MONTE!
