Hello. Would some one please identify this transmission for me? No guessing games please, I would appreciate an accurate ID...

The serial number stamped above inspection window at front will ID the exact year of car it came out of within the span.

Hello. Thank you both for the information. Is this transmission valuable/desireable? No "henways" please. It is stuck, so I am unsure of it's condition inside, but I can open it up if it will be worth my effort. Best wishes, David.

Anybody with a flathead and wanting an overdrive could use it.

You mean you haven't already pulled the side cover off? ... with your teeth?

  8. Check with Mack Van Pelt over on the Fordbarn site (www.fordbarn.com), also check out Mack's website www.flatheadV8.com. He's a super nice guy who knows these transmissions and is the one most likely to have whatever parts you need.

It should have those close ratio "zephyr gears" inside....if they're not rotten, they're worth something.

One of the neatest early hotrods I ever saw had that transmission behind a full house flathead hooked up to a quickchange. The car is a red 26-27 roadster with a deuce nose, three piece remote opening hood, shortened posts, built by a Lt. Willingham in the USAAF or USAF in 47 or so (etched into the back of the dash). The car is located in Cali near LA somewhere.
