I say fuck it, build it for the great 8, but show it downstairs instead.... that is where the fun is.

Ah, it was the Rodders Journal in bare metal before Detroit. It was in Street Rodder later after it won the Ridler

  3. I have followed the mystic around the coveted Ridler Award since 1973.

Rules for a Ridler contender have changed several times over the years. They have been fine tuned several times. Especially regarding the car build exposure and operationalablity. I am looking for an older ISCA rulebook or CASI documentation to see if the same rules were in effect for the 2009 season as 2012. Good luck with the endevor. It would be very cool to see a homebuilt car win it.

If I come up with anything I'll post it here.

Not that it matters much, but it was in rod and custom mag (March 2010), not in street rodder.

Yes the car continues to be completed. It will be part of the 50th anniversary of the Don Ridler Award in 2013.

The metal work is complete and the process of copper dipping and block sanding continues on all the front end, engine, interior and rear end components. Damn near 35hrs in the steering box with two more dips to go.

The motor is painted lavender/silver metallic and assembled.

I would like to show pics. but with all the opinions surrounding such actions I think it best to just verbally inform the interested persons. I will be posting the final Steve Stanford renderings when he completes them though.

Thank you for your interest in my little project

Thanks for reaching out. We continue to metal finish the body and fenders. The chroming process continues with 400pcs. done. Rad Rides by Troy are turning the "37" Zephyr drums into interior floating disk-much like Kenmonts. He is also making the one-off valve covers/valley cover/oil pan and tranny housing with the Boomerang name or just the B integrated into them.

More to follow-just ask. Thank you for your interest.
