    I'm back in a 50's car and can't be happier, 55 Customline!

will be a work in progress KEEP IT DRIVABLE!!!! I swear I will not rip this one apart!!!!

I am going traditional street hot rod on this one, as vintage as I can. Forward rake (California style), 292 Y block with 3 dueces. Stick shift on floor, buckets all wrapped in black roll and pleat.

Keeping the color with a nose and deck maybe eliminate the side trim. add Vintage (1967) Dragmaster torque thrust style rims, Ivory pearl roof..............

    Gonna be a long winter...................

I think it looks great the way it is, maybe switch to proper chrome reverse wheels with blackwalls. then just drive the wheels off of it!

Looks pretty cool as-is. Not too many Customline 2drs. out there...in '55 most of the Customlines were 4drs.

Keep the chrome, lower it a little, put duals on it, turn the tires around so that the "white" letters don't show...and drive it . If you want to do more later you can, but go slow on this one as it looks good now.

  6. I like your plans except the Torque Thrusts (but whatever floats your boat) '55 Fords are badass. I would keep the '55 trim. If you do remove it though let me know I may be interested as I want to put '55 trim on my '56.

Very nice Customline Chromedaddyo. My first car was a 58 star model four door. I'd lower her a little, throw some cool hubcaps and bigass white walls on and enjoy her.

Cool '55. I would re-think removing the side trim also.

Please don't eliminate the side trim, and please no race car f'n tourque thrusts on the ride. The wheels are dead on now, althouh as Johnnie says turn those white letters inward, and some www would really set this car off if in the budget. A little rake is cool, but that ass in way to high in the air. Sorry to be so forward in my suggestions, but why mess up a great paint job to eliminate the great side trim, and dude my opinion only, mag style wheels are for race cars not mild customs. You are lucky as hell to find a 55 Customline lookin that great, good luck with the sweet ride. ~sololobo~

Whew!! thanks, for the input guys!!

Fear not,,,, I will not cheese this up!!!!!

I'm really stoked to finally have a 55 Ford!!..BTW!!!! I did that rear bumper in the air thing in high school!!

The side trim is not what it appears to be, notice how thin it is,,, yep,,, stick on,,,, although no one notices. If I locate a servicable set of stainless I may polish it up and install it, the holes are still there.

When some guys think tri five they think gasser, others go custom, My mind is going straight for Bob Falfa's 55 or project X 57 chevy. That's my idea of a 60's style hot rod. I want to keep it all pre 1966 (where you can see it). Ultimately I favor chrome reverse and pinner white walls or black walls. Just have to have the budget.

I have a gasser 62 Comet and motorcycle projects for the winter so I hope I can squeeze in the 292 re-hab as well.

WOW a long time muscle car guy excited about a Y block,,,,haha,,

Nice car! Be sure to keep us updated with pics.

Atleast it's stick on trim and not a whole bunch of new holes.

Went to a car show last week where there was a 55 Ford black two door Customline. It had great paint, interior, wheels and a great stance. In my estimation they make a super rod. Yours looks real nice as well..
