Some more pics. Got the door jamb piece tacked in. Just have to weld that up and gap the top of the door.

Kellan, I just read 35 pages of your thread and am so impressed (and envious) with your work. You are doing an outstanding job, regardless of your age. I have two sons who like to look at my work but have no interest in doing any themselves. I can't imagine how proud stlcrzn is of you!

I saw this thread when you started it but failed to subscribe. I am now subscribed. Keep up the great work!

  5. Maybe I missed it...Are you using a transverse leaf spring?

I made a piece and welded it into the door jamb just like the other side. I gapped the top of the door. I got some fender skirts, just set one up against the fender to see how it will look

Ok about the skirts. The bottom needs to come down to meet the lower edge of the front part of the fender, is that what you were telling me on the phone? It's hard to tell on the blurry picture, on the back edge dose that go forward as it goes down?? If it does I think you need to fix that too, but I sure with your eye for perfection you already knew that.

Looks like you might have the same problem as I had with the tudor. Get the bottom where you like it and the top is too short. I originally pie cut from the center out to front and rear on the top arch of the fender opening and made them 1/2" lower in the opening (if that makes any sense). I finally gave up trying to make them fit and made my own from scratch. 35/36 openings are pretty unique. Jake

The back is fine its just the front that needs to come down. Im going to do a few other little modifications while Im at it. Going to get a solid plan laid out in my head over the weekend.

Hey Chad, You probably don't know this, but he has been at the shop. On the way to the Pile-Up this year we stop by and had a few minutes to check it out before Ryan locked it up.

    Kellan,

Tom clued me in to your progress last week and I have been lurking since... I can hardly believe this is the same car we seen at the garage tour a couple years back when you were hot and heavy on the pickup. Awesome job! Seasoned veterans are no doubt envious of how far you have come at such an early age. A tribute to your passion and devotion to the hobby no doubt. Us guys that have been messing around with this stuff for decades can really appreciate all the hard work that you have been doing. Your folks have to be busting at the seams...

I drilled all of the rivets out and took all of the structure off of the fenderskirt. I then took all of the primer off. I decided to redo the top radius instead of splitting the bottom. I think it worked quite well

Good to hear from you. Was hoping you would have been at Dickinson's rod run to see the car in person

Tough one for us to miss. Dickinson and Granny are typically the highlight of our Summer. Grandson has been keeping us hopping. Looks like it won't be too long before you'll be ready to trim this thing! What have you got planned for the interior?

I made a clamping system last night for the skirt. I think I am going to redo the back part because it isnt pulling it as tight as I would like.

The interior I plan on using the original seat. It will most likely be black and cream tuck and roll

I redid my mounting system. I am now satisfied. I put some wheels and tires on that we had around the shop. It looks much better now that it is on the ground.
