If anyone from this mag is on here please answer this question. Why do the news stand mags have a 2012 calender and the loyal subscription people don't get one? Looks like to me the subscribers would have first chioce to get this extra. I just renewed my subscription, but unless the extras start showing up, I might not renew again.

  2. Same here! I saw it on the news stand with the calendar in the plastic sleeve. I guess they figure they already have the subscriber's money, so they try to entice the occasional buyer to part with his cash by offering him a "perk". "Take care of those that take care of you". Something to remember at renewal time!

You bitch about a Street Rod calendar on a Tradition Rod site .

(sniff sniff) boo hoo, you got screwed.

Now pony up and get a HAMB calendar when they come out. ;)

I guess you forgot about the major discount you got with your subscription, that gets delivered to you.

I think everyone is tired of that "yo, gibs me dat" mentality.

I pay around $18.00 a year for both Rod & Custom as well as Street Rodder, so I don't expect to get a free calendar when the newstand price is like $5-$6 a mag.

Like Crystal Blue said spend the money on a real calendar. I know that's what I'm doing for 2012:cool:

Check all the solicitations, renewals, etc they all originate out of some place in Florida. Most of the rags contract subscription services out and have no idea what is what other than the bottom line. It's a business after all. mostly off shore owned like everything else that originated and was "Made in USA." Like old Walter C used to say each night "and that's the way it is."

Not sure where your comment "mostly off shore owned" comes from but Source Interlink, that owns Street Rodder and some 75 other magazines is a privately held US company with Citigroup holding about 80% of the shares.

I swear you "traditional or nothing" guys sure put the "a" in asshole sometimes. Street Rodder mag has really been following the trends lately and with traditional rods getting more popular and billet rods less so, the featured cars are following suit. Including a few HAMB'ers. Step off of your elitist/purist pedestal occasionally and look around with an open mind.

Was just about to say this. Street Rodder has had more traditional cars in it than Rod and Custom has lately...

The magazine people actually make more money per magazine off the subscriptions than they do off the ones on the magazine rack.
I'm another longtime subscriber that never gets a calendar.

Really? how do you figure that? I pay $8.00 for my subscription, Even at bulk mailing rates I doubt that covers the cost of mailing. Plus the cost of actually producing the magazine and the commission to the subscription service company etc.
Where they make there money is advertising, plain and simple.

There is A LOT of that in there, certainly more than any other mag. I have noticed that they have become less pastel, billett, and gold chainer lately.

THIS thread, a pointless bitch thread about a magazine, which has it's OWN WEBSITE, is gay.

    So are streetrods.

    I stand by my comment.

It's stupid threads like this that suck fat dicks on the HAMB.

    FYI.

Just to help oldspert figure out WHERE to bitch about Streetrodder magazine to...I offer this link:
