1951 Chevy in/near Logan, Ohio - a shot in the dark?

    OK, here's the story:

Earlier this year I had two cars for sale, but was watching Craigslist for possibilities if I sold either of them. (I was completely out of storage room at the time...)

I spotted an ad for a stock '51 Chevy 2-dr on either the Chillicothe or Athens Craigslist. I called the seller and we had a nice chat. I was definitely interested in the car.

It took several months, but I ended up selling both cars in one deal. I immediately looked for the seller's info, but... his ad on Craigslist had expired and I had lost my notes from the phone call.

I've tried everything I can think of to come up with this guy's name/number/etc. but I'm drawing blanks. The only other thing I can remember from the call is that I think he had another late '40s/early '50s Chevy - I think it was a Fleetline - and had purchased another project (which was why he was selling the '51).

If any of this sounds familiar, shoot me a PM as to the seller's identity!

    Thanks in advance...

I have seen a primered Fleetline with some flames on nose for sale at the Chillicothe swap meet and it was still for sale at the last Springfield swap meet, It was in primer and I think it had a front clip under it. If this is the one I might be able to find out the owners name and number.

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure that I've seen the flamed one for sale somewhere on the 'net. I hadn't thought about contacting him, but that might be a good idea. If you happen to come up with a name or number, please let me know.

The '51 that was for sale was a box-stock 2 door, either a Styleline sedan or a sports coupe. I'm almost positive the seller told me that he had a Fleetline driver, too.

    Look at your phone records.

That was among my first thoughts. Unfortunately, we were using a calling card for most of our long distance calls at that time and there's NO way to get a call history from those folks (I've tried...). We've since switched to MagicJack (which has a call history), but that's now...

I wasn't for sure how I'd made the call (it was several months ago), so I reviewed our land-line calls on-line and pulled up the outgoing number history on my cell. No luck on either set of data.

    Thanks for the thought, though...

Hey Dave, a while back I had the same kind of situation so I posted ads on craigslist in the city the original ad was posted in. Worked like a charm, the guy called me the very next day. Good luck.

Hmmm... guess I should have listed all the things I've already done. I put an ad on 2 different cities' Craigslists - no responses. I also drove up there one weekend, looked around and hit the auto stores to see if anyone knew the guy. I was gonna check with the police, but the building was locked up like a fort and I didn't see even one police car while I was there...
