Where is the Vin # located on a 34 Chevy Coupe is it on the body or the ch***is and where. Thanks Wayne
I don't know about coupes, but the Vin tag in my '34 truck was originally nailed to the p***enger side wooden floorboard...
My 35 Chevy has an info tag on p***enger side of the firewall but my understanding is that the vin is on the engine? My wood floor is long gone so Cactus could be right about that? You might check with Vintage Chevy Club.
On Ozzie cars it was feint and hand stamped on the lower outside face of the LH ch***is rail directly under the cowl where the ch***is starts to sweep up. Plus there was an additional 'Chevrolet' build tag on the RH front floor. Technically not a VIN but a manufacturer #. Ch***is # matched this. There was also a trim / paint tag on LH seat frame base. There should be a firewall plate as well, it may have some details. http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/chevytalk/GMhistory/1934modelcodes.html http://www.oldirononline.com/html/links.htm There is info on this site however can't recall where.
I believe Kisam is correct. I bought my 34 Sedan with the original engine in it and the motor# matched the number on the ***le. Never found that number anywhere else.
It is located on the right side floor main wooden body sill. It is a metal tag nailed to the sill. As a reference it is near the rt hinge pillar.
The one on my 34 Master coupe is in the same place, just ahead of the seat, and in a few inches from the rocker panel.
