I have to take a moment or two and brag on my girlfriend. Now this took place a several months ago, but problems loading pictures prevented me from showing this little slice of life untill today.
If you have followed any of the falcon threads, you'll know that I have written a bit about her aquiring and me subsequent "going through" this wagon, so I won't repeat here.

One day late last spring I had finished detailing the engine compartment and painting the engine, and told her that the next day off SHE was putting the engine in. Ya, sure! The day came, and I moved everything in the right place and told her to put on "something she never intended to wear again"... Naturally, she came out in something most would go out to dinner in! After getting that sorted out and her in her worst, I said it's time to work! Damned if she didn't!!! What follows is as sequential a batch of picts as I could manage while moving the car around and telling her where stuff should be, plus keeping her hands attached to her arms...

Oh, and just for the record, this is about as Girly a girl as you'll ever find, A Chanel make up rep! Am I proud? You betcha!!!

Congrats to you both! I got lucky; my wife's been a 'tomboy' all her life, taking stuff apart and putting them back together for as long as I've known her. Good job on the Falcon!

She is usually not too keen to do the actual work, and I don't think I would want to let her do the heavy, greasy **** that we all do. But this particular day I thought she needed to do bit of work on her own car, and I knew she could do it. From pumping up the lift to dropping it just little bits a time, with my guidence, she did it herself. All I did was dirrect and roll the car under the engine/trans unit. I even had to kick her out of the way under the car when I levered the engine side to side to get it level and bolt it down.

She is getting so good at spotting and finding old cars over the last seven years that we have been together, that I have to get her to work on them sometimes to remind her why we can't own every old car she wants to drag home. I find that when she puts in the same work day that I do everyday on occasion, she finds out just how hard a work day can be sometimes. Maybe someday I'll tell you guys about the first day with this car when she learned how to hand rub original 49 year old paint and make it shiny!

Nice Chip! I try to get my girl to just wash her falcon and it's a struggle. Mostly just do to the time factor you made reference to.

Btw, I heard you had a horde of falcons, but now see it for myself. Might you have a taillight lense for a 63 to replace the one my girl busted backing into an electrical box?

I prefer flock, but maybe a parliment... I'll look and see if I have one around. I have managed to have all '62s in this deal, but I bought a '49 GMC truck about a decade ago that had a bed full of... you guessed it - Falcon ****! I might still have a lense hanging on my wall.

By the way, did I ever tell you that my female damn near snapped up your Falcon before yours did? We saw it a day or two before you guys bought it.

    Sweet! Let me know.

Yes, you did mention that you almost got the Falcon. Lucky for us you didn't. She loves the car and is sad when she isn't able to drive it.

Did you see the Westrick/Vinther roadster out there this weekend and was at the Deuce Day event. I seem to recall you are a fan of the car.

Nice to see a girl roll up her sleeves and work on a car. My wife is pretty good with a wrench too, she would show up to help me wearing all sorts of rings and bracelets, I had her take those off.

Great thread. My wife has declared her intent to fully participate in building her a V8 Falcon, so I’ll have to show her this one.

I gotta' show this to my daughter. Maybe she'll get pumped up enough to go out into the shop and finish her '62 Falcon Coupe.

I can't believe your into Falcons too and your girleygirl wife helped you with an engine installation as my girleygirl wife did a few years ago on her Cad.
We might be "brothers from another mother" Your avatar is a 48 Plymouth. I have a '48 Plymouth. My avatar is a T bucket. You've built T buckets. You started a thread about Falcons. I'm planning a Falcon build to tow behind my motorhome. I have relatives in Arizona and You live in Arizona. Scary!
Okay the '65 Mustang 289 engine out of my roadster that I replaced with the Cad. is still available to me. I'm thinking early round fender Falcon. Keep it pretty stock looking. Maybe a little bigger tires and disk brakes up front. What a sleeper it will be. Okay I'm going to friend you.

pffft! thats what my wife says.
cant tell an 11/16" from an 11 mm wrench.
put them back on the same hook when cleaning the shop.thought they were the same.
as far as helping me clean and organize the workshop-think of something you would use most often and and the last place you would look for it.

Man,you are truly blessed.the car gods are smiling upon you.

    Frank.

Cool! Might as well, we have actually closed down a thread together already! (remember the old "sixties T bucket" thread) We do have a bit in common, don't we. If ya need halp with Falcon stuff, just let me know. There seems to be 4.2 bazillion of them still around this area.

I once asked my wife to help me lift a turbo 400 out of the bed of my truck so I could put it on a dolly. I told her to grab the tailshaft since it was lighter. She took one look and said no, it looks too heavy. I got "ticked", grabbed my weight belt and work gloves and did it myself. You must be proud, she's a keeper!

Proving that she is a very girly-girl, I've been trying to figure out why she hasn't talked to me since the other evening... Turns out she was mad that I showed pictures of her with out makeup to the entire hot rod brotherhood!!! Ever been yelled at in English and Chinese at the same time? I think she gets my pride now, though.
