I was at a local flea market and found this Hubley Diecast Packard for 2 bucks! It is missing the headlights and windshield frame but the rest is intact!Does anyone remember this Metal kit from the early sixties?I have the missing parts in my stash and plan on painting it green with silver fenders!
I remember them... I bought one new in the mid 80's... I don't know that they made that particular one that early, I'm not an expert. I am racking my brain... but I never finished the kit. I don't remember what I did with it. If I ever come across it... I'll let you know! Sam
Just went and looked at this site: http://www.hubleykits.com/ It made my brain work... and I remembered that the kit I bought was the '32 Chevy... Sorry! I'd check e-bay... Sam
I remember them and used to get their catalogs when I was much younger. My paper route only allowed me an AMT budget though. Tom
cool score, someday i'll get off my lazy a** & dig all my my models out -some go back to the late 50's,even have some promo cars...
When I built mine (mid 70s) you could still get parts from Hubley but I doubt the company is still around.
I bought a metal car kit back in the early 60's....damn instructions where in French....that was OK cause I made it into a hot rod.....stan
Here is the body and hood after a few coats of paint(Don't worry about the flat sheen,it will receive several gloss coats after the paint has cured and is polished)
Looks good, I rember Dad building a few back in the '60's. I had the INDY car they offered, traded it or sold it years ago. Wish I had that one and the Monogram larger than 1/25 '32 Ford Coupe.
my grandfather gave me a couple of hubleys...but my dad gave me a 1/8th 32 ford hot rod he built as a kid. it's a 32 roadster with a nailhead and 5 spokes, 60's style (as that's when it would've come out and when he would've been building it...it's all busted up and cracked and broken, but it's all there. i don't recall who makes it offhand. and i dont have the time to rebuild it right now, but it's on my to-do list. those stupid little models are worth some money now! but i think it's pretty cool to dig through the multiple paint jobs my old man laid down on this little model and do something like he did!
