Oak creek canyon ,south of Flagstaff on 89A. Nice scenery and Sedona at the south end.

In Flagstaff, see if you can find directions to the lava tube. It's out in the middle of nowhere, off some obscure Forest Service road. There's a random hole in the ground that opens up into a 3/4 mile-long cave. You'll need a flashlight.

The Grand Canyon Cafe on old Rt. 66 hasn't changed since the 50s. When I lived in Flagstaff, they still had fresh-cut French fries and pretty decent burgers.

Wupatki, which is east of town a few miles, has some pretty impressive prehistoric stone dwellings. Walnut Canyon, also east of town, is interesting too, though the cliff dwellings there aren't as visually impressive as Wupatki.

Checkout the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ. It's cheap and clean and there's a bunch of the owner's old cars(drivers) in the lot.

The London Bridge is in Lake Havasu City, 20 miles south of I-40. If you come south on US 95 through Searchlight to I-40, you are going right by the turnoff. You could visit the bridge then backtrack 8 miles to Topock and take Route 66 through Oatman, an old gold mining town.

If you are going straight from Vegas to Kingman via the Hoover Dam, be sure to take Route 66 from Kingman to Seligman and stop at the Snocap Drive-in for an ice cream cone. There are also several interesting stops along 66, which is the longest remaining continous stretch of the old highway. The Grand Canyon Caverns is an old tourist trap and they still have tours. Hackberry has a great old general store with lots of old stuff.

Let me know if you will be coming to LHC.
