Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 34 wood remover, Nov 21, 2011.

  1. Hi Guy's
Getting ready to start a mild build on my 34 chevrolet p.u.
For starter's I would like to change it over from mechanical brakes to hydralic brakes.Any idea what year of backing plates will bolt onto the front and rear axles.Just looking to upgrade the truck to a nice summer cruiser with an early sixties 6 and an automatic transmission. When it is done my wife will likely spend more time behind the wheel than I thanks in advance for any info or suggestions joe mac

I have a later front axle out of a 51 chevy 1/2 ton pickup in my 35 chevy pickup. It is a bolt in which gives you hydraulic brakes in the front.I am running a 1996 s10 4 wheel drive rear axle in my truck as well. It is the right width for my truck and lets me play with backspacing.I also run a pair of 53 chevy p***enger front hubs and drums so i can have five lug wheels front and rear.
