I'm travelling down for U.S. Thanksgiving at the inlaws. Won't be around for the weekends just Tuesday to Friday but just looking for ideas, not necessarily car stuff but even a kool club, wifey might want to dance.
Plenty of cool race stuff. I highly recommend the Charlotte Motor Speedway tour. They park the tour van on the banking and you think you're turning over! Hendrick's Shop is their within a mile or so of the track as well. RCR' s shop and museum is a short drive away. Most of the teams are close by. If it's race related they've got it.
Check out Dennis Carpenter(if your a ford guy) 2 miles north of the speedway.. The iron lords shop wed night if they are around..., b*** pro right near there too.. Seriously, Jeffrey?? Maybe Jeremy... They are really good guys at the iron lords.. J/K Jeffrey..
I'm the lamest thing in Charlotte and those who've met me can attest. However, I know the guys would love to have you on Wednesday for our shop night at the Iron Lords Clubhouse in Concord, NC We normally just get together after 6pm on Wednesdays and hang out at the shop and shoot the ****. You're more then welcome to stop by!! PM me if you're interested. Need a '34 Sedan? I have one for sale you can take back up with ya! Hahaha!!! Grab some lunch at the Diamond. It's pretty good.
Sorry, don't know much girly stuff to do. Concord, NC is loaded with auto related stuff as mentioned. If you're into drag racing, stop by and see Doug Herbert as his new shop. There is also a desent auto related museum in Concord as well. There also is a cl***ic car dealership just the other side of Charlotte that has a great collection of cars. The only problem is I can't remember their name, perhaps someone on here can help. Food: You've gotta hit Pinky's for a "Full Blown Hemi" burger and some deep fried pickels, or Highway 21 Diner that still uses outdoor order speakers. There is also Wineburgers in Newton, NC for an awsome hand carved steak.
I just remembered the other great burger joint in Charlotte, it's the Diamond Restaurant. The owners of the Diamond and Pinky's were partners in Penguin's until the landowner stole the place back now that it was a hot spot. Anyone who ate at Penguins prior to the takeover now boycotts Penguins and goes to Pinky's or the Diamond. **** Penguins!!! The Diamond is literally around the corner from Penguins. In fact, park in Penguins lot and walk to the Diamond. While you're at it, flip the owners of Penguins off!
x2 on Holman & Moody. They treat you like an old friend and are truly glad to have you stop by. They also sell neat gear. Jackets, tshirts, posters and parts. It's a friggin history lesson for any car guy!
Hahaha thanks dude Virgil, if your around come on by the shop wednesday. 606 church street concord Nc 28025
"There also is a cl***ic car dealership just the other side of Charlotte that has a great collection of cars. The only problem is I can't remember their name, perhaps someone on here can help." Are you thinking of Morrison's?
I was in the NASCAR Hall of Fame...museum, yesterday. It wasn't worth it. The cl***ic car dealer could be RK Motors. 5527 Lakeview Rd. Charlotte, NC 28269 rkmotors.com
