Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by VirgilHilts, Nov 20, 2011.

  1. I'm travelling down for U.S. Thanksgiving at the inlaws. Won't be around for the weekends just Tuesday to Friday but just looking for ideas, not necessarily car stuff but even a kool club, wifey might want to dance.

Plenty of cool race stuff. I highly recommend the Charlotte Motor Speedway tour. They park the tour van on the banking and you think you're turning over! Hendrick's Shop is their within a mile or so of the track as well. RCR' s shop and museum is a short drive away. Most of the teams are close by. If it's race related they've got it.

Only if you're a NASCAR fan. Taxi drivers will know where the good clubs are.

  8. Sorry, don't know much girly stuff to do.

Concord, NC is loaded with auto related stuff as mentioned. If you're into drag racing, stop by and see Doug Herbert as his new shop. There is also a desent auto related museum in Concord as well. There also is a cl***ic car dealership just the other side of Charlotte that has a great collection of cars. The only problem is I can't remember their name, perhaps someone on here can help.

Food: You've gotta hit Pinky's for a "Full Blown Hemi" burger and some deep fried pickels, or Highway 21 Diner that still uses outdoor order speakers. There is also Wineburgers in Newton, NC for an awsome hand carved steak.

I visit the Roush outlets and shops, also the stores that sell used NASCAR parts.

  12. I just remembered the other great burger joint in Charlotte, it's the Diamond Restaurant.

The owners of the Diamond and Pinky's were partners in Penguin's until the landowner stole the place back now that it was a hot spot.

Anyone who ate at Penguins prior to the takeover now boycotts Penguins and goes to Pinky's or the Diamond. **** Penguins!!!

The Diamond is literally around the corner from Penguins. In fact, park in Penguins lot and walk to the Diamond. While you're at it, flip the owners of Penguins off!

I was in the NASCAR Hall of Fame...museum, yesterday. It wasn't worth it.
The cl***ic car dealer could be RK Motors.
