1.4 million was just 1 day, the day the sold the bikes. the whole auction brought in just shy of $4 million.

some of the cars were resold on ebay already. Some didn't meet reserve and are relisted.

I went through the listings pretty quick but it seemed some of the stuff was fairly reasonable, some a bit high. Would have been fun to have been there. Thanks for posting the results, was interesting to look through.

I cant see the prices on the bikes. It wasn't too long ago that you could buy a running Indian Chief for 4500 or so now they are a fortune. Recession my *** its proof positive that some one has the money out there, unfortunately its not me.

I thought it was opposite on the memorabilia and vintage car parts and such.

I did buy something there though! Got caught up in the auction heat. Ouch!

Check out the 1950 Spohn-bodied Veritas. $195,000!!?? That thing looks like a sperm whale on a skateboard.

How about the Edwards sports car for $145000? "Might" be the first Pebble Beach winner?

Looks like the 1%-ers were there.

Most of the Fords went for reasonable prices. Pretty much everything else was way over market. And those prices don't reflect the 15% seller fee and 9.25% sales tax.

He could have sold it before he died and had the money-but chose not to.All the same, they're still making more money, but no new NOS Deuce parts.

That Veritas was at Hershey this fall-pretty cool-and maybe ChevyGirlRox sitting along with it-but I was far away and wasn't sure.

  21. Good on him for that, a true collector - its not about the money the collection is what matters.

  22. I was going to say... cripes the price raised faster than a bidder could raise his hand!

Good to see people with money again.

A few lots had NOS deuce parts but most lots were large and had to dig a bit. I know one lot had a NOS speedo, cylinder lock n keys 4 of them ,a gas pedal, pads, tail light and a bunch more 33-34 stuff if I recall.

Final chapter of the Hartung story:

    http://www.showcase.com/b/commercial-real-estate/Tim-Wagener/2950854

When they announced the auction, I figured the property would be worth as much as the collection, but I wasn't expecting $4 million for all the goodies... Whatever gets built there, I'll bet you will still hear the sound of ghostly four-bangers on moonlit nights...
