Someone makes a bullnose for FILLED Deuce grilles that's just a straight strip -- with NO EMBLEM. Anyone know who it is...?
I think the one in the pic is the So Cal one.It is straight without an opening for the rad cap. I have seen some cars done with a thin bullnose without that emblem shown. But I think they might hve been custom made.
I checked So Cal before I posted and didn't see one -- but I went ahead and dropped them an eMail. Thanks!
Rudy -- yeah, that's what I mean: straight strip with no opening for the cap and no pad for the Ford emblem. But it seems like I saw 'em in someone's catalog... somewhere...
so-cal must have them , they are in their catalog and i have bought two from them...but i think they are acually made by Bob drake....check their website
He wan't one without the oval for the "Ford" emblem ***-well... He wants just a thin strip of metal from the grill up to the hinge cover. Are you with us now cl***? So-Cal don't have them. We're on the bottom of page 32 now kids. Try and keep up.
Motor head jewelry makes the bullnoses for So-cal as well as several other builders. I'm thinking about having a custom one made for myself and my buddies cars. Here's there link. Big Dirty www.motorheadjewelry.com
Thanks Kilroy, sometimes late at night you gotta slap a little sense into 'em Drake doesn't have them, and the Motorhead folks make the little badges that drop into the oval -- so I'm back to square one. Who makes a nice, clean little bullnose strip WITH NO BADGE??
You might want to concider making it yourself. I'm thinking you could get piece of br*** and bend it to the shape and and then round off the edges and put the desired taper on it. work your way up from say 80 grit to sand the radius to 150 to 220 grit to really smooth it out and then have it chrome plated. The backside could be drilled and tapped for a no.6 machine screw. I have made some trim pieces this way and the results have been very nice. YOu built that bad*** RPU, I know you can make a little price of trim Good luck either way.
Try the piece that finishes off the rear of the 32 hood center trim. SoCal has them in two lengths. They are straight so you would carefully have to bend it to contour to your grille. You might also try Brookville. If you don't find it there, get back with me and I will dig out mine and see who makes it. Good luck, Hotrod Al
