So I just got back to CT from dropping my toolbox off at my new job. Jim Lowrey's Auto Restoration in Tilton NH. I am so excited to work at this shop and have met all but one of the guys and they seem great! Now just about 4 more trips to the storage unit with all the family's possesions and we will be ready for closing on our house Fri Dec 2!!! I am so stoked! Jim Jr and Jim Sr are top notch men and the guys working there are also top notch. Great quality workmanship, pride in what is done and no egos. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, the cars... Nothing like going to work and being surrounded by beautiful machines. Thanks for the responses.
Yeah, a dream come true to say the least. What else could one want? Working for some great people building some fantastic cars. If I didn't have a family to support I would work there for free (Don't tell Jim!). Not to mention I have met a few of his customers who seem to be really good people as well. Gonna be a whole lot easier to get up out of bed in the morning!

Thanks. We'll just be 2hr 45min out of home here so coming back for the good shows will be no problem! I'll keep all my friends here posted so we can catch up when we come back to town. And you all know you are welcome anytime to stop in at the house and can arrange for shop visits.
Congratulations! That Ray Brown car was the restoration that put that shop on the map for me. Hope there are other Historical race car restorations in the future.

Yeah, I was at Tyrods Old Timers in fall of 92 when they brought the Racer Brown roadster and the Bob Schaeneman roadster out. Ironically it was the same night I bought my 55 Buick, which I still own. Currently the Joe Nitti roadster is in the shop for some minor mechanical work. Incredible to be in a shop that has history flowing in and out. Not to take anything away from the cars currently being built. Some beautiful machinery for sure.
So I just got back to CT again. Spent Mon and Tues working at Lowrey's. Hopefully closing on this house in CT Thurs and the new to us house in NH Fri. All the guys really are great, Jim is as good of a boss as you can get. Nice to have a work environment where doing the job right is more important than doing it quickly. Working on a beautiful 55 Chevy ragtop beats the hell out of working on fleet trucks and vans. Not to mention some of the other projects going on in the shop right now. A 32 V8 wagon/woodie full resto, a 32 tudor for some light body/mechanical repair, a 33 3w hotrod project just to name a few that are being worked on today. Shop is great, guys are great and I get paid. Might be better than winning lotto!
