to short

    put a 351, fordomatic and 8" in my 50 ford. need a drive shaft 57". cant seem to find a chart showing drive shaft lenghts.:confused:

    Hollander Interchange might have what you need. I have my driveshafts made.
    Contact a machiene shop or driveline shop. About $125.00 here.

    thanks. ill take a tape to the boneyard, if no luck ill have one made.

    check out long wheelbase vans a good friend used one to eliminate the carrier bearing in his 1/2 ton truck

    gotta watch out for those boneyard driveshafts, be sure they are not bent. my buddy got a bent one once, probably because they pick them up with giant fork lifts.

    Check out a drive shaft from a Crown Vic, or an Aerostar. You may need to change ends.
     
  7. You can always get one a little longer than needed and shorten it to fit perfectly.

    what don56 said, get one to long and shorten it your self. it's easy, google, how to shorten a driveshaft for info. make sure u joints are the right size, there are several.
    good look.

    Hey Otis. been there done that too many times. When you compare the minimal cost of having someone make one for you or help you make one that is straight, correct length, and well balanced to the damage potential of an incorrectly fitted drive shaft it is a no brainer for me. Just a poorly balanced shaft can do a lot of damage to either end of your drive train. Good luck with your build, Mike.

    took some good advice and had one made. fits perfect and cost about a third of what i had thought. thanks for the info.
