The drawing looks like he has been paying attention to some cool rides.

Must be a great thing to have a son who is into the same thing.

    Cherish the time!

You are indeed priveleged to have a father/son project like this. I have 3 daughters and never had the opportunity to do it. They like cl***ics and muscle but not my rod. I have a brother 14 mos older than me and my dad travelled for business alot. We bought a Model A to work on together. Then another, and another kept us together every weekend from age 12 through 21 as rather than go away for school and have to give up the cars and togetherness we commuted to Rutgers and lived home. The realtionships we built have lasted a lifetime. Smartest move my family ever made. MIKE

Not HAMB friendly but my son and I rebuilt a real '69 Z-28 that I gave him for his 16th birthday. Finished it for the first drive on his 18th birthday. He's 45 now and is just getting into the real work doing the car again. He wanted to sell it when he graduated college so i bought it from him and stored it for 20 years until he took an interest in it again. Now he's glad I didn't let it leave the family and he can have is first ride to do all over again. The best times of our lives together were when we did the car the first time and it remains a bond between us.

That is such a cool first car, mine was a 53 GMC that my Dad and I worked on so I could drive it to school when I turned 16. My oldest is now16 and he and I have started on his 71 Duster, while my 13 year old is waiting patiently for us to start his 65 Mustang....dont know what the 9 year old will like yet(either a 69 Charger...or a Falcon, I'm pushing towards the Falcon). All of them like the oldies as well, and the 13 year old really likes the 47 Dodge in the drive.

    When this trucks a-rockin'....
Very cool. I remember spending countless hours "down in the garage" with my dad.
Keep up the healthy tradition...it will pay off in the future.

My father was into rods but never around to show me the ropes. I have a 10 month old son now and since the day he came home I've been force feeding anything "kustom cars" !! We even go to swap meets together early in the morning. I'm usually the only guy there pushing a stroller :) I need to build him something cool to ride in. Good luck with the whole project. You two will have a lot of fun and make a lot of memories.
